Kanye hypes, then flops. Nothing new really.
So go ahead, go nuts, go ape shit,
Especially in my Pastelle, or my Bape shit.
HAT3RZ!
Pastelle (lolwot) by Kanye West has been withdrawn before it’s even hit the stores. lolwot?
According to MTV who ‘broke’ the news, and also ‘broke’ the leaked photos (I use ” marks because I question whether it was really breaking news) it had finally arrived. Then as soon as it was released, it was withdrawn.
It’s very strange — Kanye seemingly put everything aside to devote himself to fashion design. He cleared his schedule for an entire five months, starting in February, to work on Pastelle and his Louis Vuitton sneaker collaboration. He even delayed his tour (which is neither here nor there now, since it isn’t happening anyway.

UPDATE: Turns out Pastelle will never, ever, ever come out.
Just as quickly as the news was released, a cryptic update by way of High Snobiety came with word that Pastelle as never coming out. As in, ever. The source of the retraction was not identified, but apparently folks were assured that a new Kanye line was, in fact, in the works, but it would be released under a different name.

And Kanye says:
Off the line, Kanye had said, “Just getting the right designs. It’s a gift and a curse. You’ve got all eyes on you, so if you deliver something great, it’s gonna get held as, ‘Oh, it’s supposed to be great.’ And even if it’s good or it’s OK or something, it’s gonna get bashed. There were phases where I could just do the bear on a Polo and it would’ve made $100 million. At a certain point. But I always say I was a designer before I was a rapper, and I really wanted to get into design. So then, trying to start designing and goin’ with my girl down to the fashion district and stuff, and looking at fabrics and stuff like that, I’m like, ‘Oh, shit. This is real.’ I’ve learned so much about materials and fabrics and applications and sequence and shiny fabrics and fits and all type of shit…”

I’m only blogging about it, because I wanted to make a pun about it. Pastelle is a stupid name. And I want to know if anyone was looking forward to it.
