Hong Kong based urban contemporary lifestyle brand Cipher is one of those brands that you don’t really hear about, then when you do, you wonder how you could have gone without it for so long.

Cipher was first launched for Holiday 2008 and it’s footwear has already made huge noise in Tokyo’s oh-so-hip-it’s-attached-to-a-damn-cool-pelvis Harajuku district. Their 2009 Holiday collection is an edgy new sneaker collection which is inspired by western counter-culture and their icons, the footwear aesthetics are sharp with a balanced dose of subversion and each model is crafted from high-grade leather and comes with an embossed foot harness.

Each collection within Holiday 2009 is inspired by a piece of literary genius, I mean come on, do your other sneakers have that much sass and smarts? The Libertine is my favourite shoe, inspired by Oscar Wilde – yes, a shoe inspired by Oscar Wilde, I ain’t telling porkies when I say these are on the next level.
