Rather dangerous designer collaborations x Topshop Spring 2010

Previews of Topshop’s spring 2010 collabs have been released, from Ashish, Ann Sofie Beck and Jonathan Saunders.
Can’t say I’m particularly jazzed about any of these collections; Ashish’s pieces just look like a menace to society or a useful alternative to skewers at a BBQ; Beck’s black dress looks sassy in the lookbook image but then it just looks like someone did an Adrian Mole on their garms, and Jonathan Saunder’s denim pieces just look like overpriced marketplace tat. But then again I didn’t particularly think Christopher Kane’s collection for Topshop was so exciting, I had no idea what everyone was raving about.
Or perhaps I’m just a hater, as usual :p. Have a look esperites, and make your own minds up. Click the images to see more previews.

Ashish for Topshop features a collection of sportswear in soft sweatshirt fabrics embellished with studs and spikes. “Studs and spikes were a big part of my mainline collection this season, and it felt right to carry that through in some way for my range for Topshop. I love the contrast between soft sweatshirt fabric and metal spikes – it’s classic sportswear meets punk.”
The Ashish collection for Topshop hits stores on February 3, 2010.

Ann Sofie Back for Topshop’s third collection consists of 6-pieces inspired by horror movies. She explained, “I looked at traditional American stereotypes such as horror movies. The sequined tops, dresses and sweats are slashed by Freddy Kruger himself.”
The Ann Sofie Back collection for Topshop hits stores on January 6, 2010.

Jonathan Saunders for Topshop’s fourth collection was “inspired by sportswear and workwear, as well as the bold and graphic shapes of the Memphis movement. It’s perfect for urban city dwellers.”
