NONCLASSICAL Clubnight returns

A new music scene is currently emerging in London… Over the last few years ‘classical club-nights’ have started to become a rare but growing feature in the night-life of London. This has been fueled by the new generation of classical performers, composers and promoters who are redefining the rules, and breaking out of the constraints of the traditional classical concert hall. At the forefront of this new movement is Nonclassical.
The Nonclassical Clubnight returns…
Contemporary Classical Club night with live music and DJs
Now one step closer to the weekend as we move to the first Thursday of every month.

The Horse and Groom, 28 Curtain Road, EC2 (Nearest tubes Liverpool Street & Old Street)
£4/£3 concessions
The Horse and Groom
Following the success of our monthly club night at The Macbeth, Nonclassical’s first event of 2010 will be held at The Horse and Groom, or ‘The Disco Pub’ as the venue is known to locals. Situated on Curtain Road in Shoreditch, the venue boasts traditional furniture mixed with a quirky undertone which suits the diverse musical ethos of Nonclassical clubnights.
With live performances from the Mercury Quartet and Jennifer Torrence and innovative DJ sets mixing contemporary classical and the genre-bending remixes from resident DJs Gabriel Prokofiev, Richard Lannoy & special guests.
Founded by composer Gabriel Prokofiev in 2003, Nonclassical is a club-night, UK based record label, and possibly a new genre of music (according to Rough Trade records). The club-night is at The Macbeth (an old, live-music pub in Shoreditch, East London), and the audience is never the typical white-haired classical crowd, but that young-generation of music lovers who are searching for the latest exciting developments in music.
