Jann Haworth Exhibition

The Beatles’ eighth studio album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) was a huge commercial success spending 27 weeks at number one in the UK chart. The instantly recognisable, Grammy award winning cover, which features the band posing before a collection of famous figures, was designed by the Hollywood-born artist Jann Haworth and her then-husband Peter Blake.

For the first time in over 35 years Haworth is currently exhibiting work in the UK. The Wolverhampton Art Gallery’s ‘Pop: Jann Haworth’ exhibition includes behind the scenes photographs of the the making of the Sgt. Pepper set and the life size sculpture ‘Old Lady II’ which featured as the Granny in the album cover photo montage.

The exhibition runs until 10th April 2010 at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, WV1 1DU. For more information go to: www.wolverhamptonart.org.uk
