LFW Day 2 – Sat 20th Feb: Pierre Garroudi

9pm – Pierre Garroudi

For some reason it took us over an hour to get from Somerset House from PPQ to London Bridge where Pierre Garroudi’s show was under one of the arches on Crucifix Lane. But the show started an hour late (thank god for that) and we got there just in time. Had to stand, but it was a-ok, glad I got there in time.

Every piece in Pierre’s collection was tomato red. The hairpieces were red, the dresses were red, the shoes were red, the models were red.. (just kidding.) I’ve definately developed a new found appreciation for wool over the past few days, and the designers I’ve seen create architectural and beautiful pieces out of it, namely Mr Garroudi to highlight one. Other pieces looked like they were painstakingly created out of accordion pleating tiny red cocktail napkins.

And models were lush, curvy and knew how to work it.

The hair pieces were phenomenal, including one crepe headpiece that looked like those roses that you have on a party dress when you’re a little girl. T says wigs need to make a comeback, I wholeheartedly concur. Bright red pompom hair was everywhere.

GaGa needs to get on this red bikini. Who would have thought heavy wool could be sensual and highlight every curve?

At one point the CD skipped, and the poor model had to walk to her own beat, I was planning to clap and start a beat, but for once, I remained inconspicuous.

Pierre’s studio is on the same road as where a friend of mine lives, I’m definately going to be popping in to pay him a visit.

Imogen and Grace from BM Modele looked amazing in this show! The hair was literally out of this world, does anyone know who was responsible for it?

do you know who the the last model was? Was she a celebrity? I agree with you-all red and wigs is definately a winner!
