When Reebok announced earlier this year that Leighton Meester would be the new face of Reebok, I was a tad leery. For those of you who don’t know (how could you not) Leighton Meester’s best known role is playing Blair Waldorf on ‘Gossip Girl’ – characterised by being prim and proper, having the classiest fashion sense in the show, cutting wit, ability to spot a fake pair of Gucci pumps from a distance and posing in pretty lingerie whilst scheming before breakfast. Blair in Reeboks – surely not.

But it works. Kind of. It helps that Leighton Meester is fit.

Her legs are pretty fit too.

Reebok have made a pretty good campaign featuring a fresh-faced actress, who is well known, adored by many and who makes it work. I’d definately say a better casting decision than Ungaro (ok I’ll stop going on about Lindsay Lohan). At least I don’t think Meester designed them. They’re kinda cute. Not saying she couldn’t design a nice pair of kicks but we all know what happens when famous people try and design trainers. (Don’t me wrong, I love Run’s House and Daddy’s Girls.)

The sneaks are only $59.99 from Lady Foot Locker (yes not yet in the UK).But judging by the popularity and reception received so far, I’d expect them to be launching over here in the new year.
