Christian Louboutin has customised 3 dolls, inspired by Nefertiti and Marilyn Monroe, which feature a new terracotta tan skin tone, and having never before experienced the delights of such gravity-defying heels, a new in-step to enable her to take giant Louboutin steps for doll-kind.

However, a limited edition Christian Louboutin Barbie doesn’t end there; 4 Barbie-sized pairs of shoes accompany each doll, each in their very own Louboutin shoe boxes, in which delicate tissue paper reveals such miniature delights as lovingly crafted long leopard skin Christian Louboutin boots. The Christian Louboutin Barbie doll with a jewellery thief theme together with the calendar, launches December 2009 at Net-a-porter.

The full slideshow can be seen here courtesy of WWD. The Louboutin x Barbie collaboration follows on from successful collaborations with MAC and Stila. Register here to join the waiting list.

As part of the celebrations honouring Barbie’s 50th birthday, global events have included 50 designers presenting Barbie-inspired clothes at New York Fashion Week. Mr Louboutin has revealed his take on the ‘Barbie As Muse’ project, in which fashion designers, including Givenchy and DVF, will interpret Barbie in their own way. Following his hot pink footwear creations with signature red soles for the Barbie Runway Show at NFW, the designer and iconic doll have been enjoying a series of dates together, all documented in a new photography style-calendar, A Year In Paris.

As of December, the calendar plus the Louboutin Barbie as a jewellery burglar can be bought together in a Barbie collector’s set for £100 exclusively from Net-a-Porter.
